Joe Lieberman's First Ad

Called Unity, it will run through early next week and possibly longer. All the major network affiliates in CT will share in the buy. The ad was produced by Carter Eskew before he left the campaign.

Here's the script:

This week we had round one of the U.S. Senate race. Now round two begins. I want to thank my supporters and explain to all you why I've decided to fight on. I'm staying in this race because I want to keep working for the things that matter to you. I've led the Senate on issues like national security the creation of the 9/11 commission; efforts to stop global warming; protect social security and find cures for diseases like cancer and diabetes. And I'm staying because I want to help end the war in Iraq in a way that brings stability to the Mid-East and doesn't leave us even more vulnerable. So much needs to be done, but so little is actually getting done in Washington because our politics have become so partisan and polarized. My 30 years of experience has been about bringing people together. I'm Joe Lieberman. And I approved this message because it's time for a new politics of unity and purpose.

DINO Joe

[To: “Jambalaya”]

DINO Joe, he gotta go, me-o, my-o.
Stuck like glue to Double-U, make me cry-o.
As if he won, gonna run, me-o, my-o.
Son-of-a-gun, it’s time he’s done, say "bye-bye-o.”

CHO:

Joe bye-bye, spit in your eye, what a loser,
Sings the blues on TV news, what a snoozer.
G.O.P. star, loves the war, me-o, my-o.
Son-of-a-gun, it’s time he’s done, say “bye-bye-o.”

People’s vote sticks in his throat, can’t take losin’,
Second place, do-over race is what he’s choosin’.
Keep his seat, with no retreat, that’s what he’s thinkin’
I wanna know, DINO Joe, what you been drinkin’?

You gotta be kidding me. Not only does he just not comprehend the fact the voters of Connecticut don't want him representing them any longer, but he is gonna lie about his voting record as well? He seem to remember him being all for the privatization of Social Security, not trying to protect it.

"I'm staying in this race because I want to keep working for the things that matter to you."

...and even though nearly 140,000 of you have come out in a mid term primary in August to tell me that you do not want me to represent the party I've been representing for 18 years, I want to back to Washington. And we all know that what I want is more important than following the rules of democracy.

In case you were wondering why I am fighting this fairly called election so hard when I rolled over and died in 2000, I have to say to you that this election will not put a Democrat in Washington, though the election in 2000 would have. I hate partisan politics for a lot of reasons, but mostly because it's me and Hadassah's code language for Democratic politics.

So- vote for me, or I won't abide by that vote either. I'll superglue myself to my chair in the Senate and demand that I will not let that poll stand.

Because I'm Joe Leiberman and Democracy is only worth fighting for when he keeps a true Democrat out of Washington.

Getting things done with this the majority equals marriage and flag burning amendments, legalizing torture, getting more extreme judges on the bench, plus Getting rid of social security, Medicare, Medicaid and the estate tax. I don't want those things done and prefer the wheels to grind to a halt. Joe Loser can cram it.

We had round one, and you got knocked out!

Fight over. You lost. Quit stalking the Connecticut voters!

So Joe Lieberman bemoans the fact that "our politics have become so partisan and polarized."

However, apparantly he has no problem uttering these words after the news of the terror plot in London:

“If we just pick up like Ned Lamont wants us to do, get out by a date certain, it will be taken as a tremendous victory by the same people who wanted to blow up these planes in this plot hatched in England,” Mr. Lieberman said at a campaign event in Waterbury, Conn. “It will strengthen them, and they will strike again.”

Tell you what, when someone explains to me how these words and their timing, aren't 'partisan and polarizing', then maybe I'll give Mr Lieberman's claim a little more than the short shrift it now deserves.

Let's face it, Mr. Lieberman decries partisanship when it is directed at Republicans, but has absolutely no problem with becoming as partisan or as polarizing as needed against the party of which he claims to be a member.

Unity, ah yesssss, just like Lieberman helped unite the Democrats all those years. Oh yeah, wait a minute, he didn't. He stabbed them in the back every chance he got. When they tried to stand firm against Bush's failed policy, he didn't stand with the Dems, he said we undermine the President at our nation's peril.
Now he wants unity. I think he means that he wants to unite the Republicans. If that's the case, Democrats should vote for Lamont. He's more interested in unting the country against Bush's failed policies. Now that's what I call unity.

Go for Unity, Joe. Stop this ridiculous campaign. You lost, for real. Before you make a total ass of yourself, get out.

Wow, how about the "tolerant left"! I've got news for you freaks, Joe Lieberman is a good man and actually tries to work with the other side of the aisle. Continue to take the party to the extreme left - we'll end up even more of a minority. Maybe if we just leave the terroists alone - they'll go away! yeah, right.

freaks vote joe!
