A Glimpse Behind The Curtain: Geroge Allen Needs Letters
Here's a e-mail we recieved from a well-known and well-connected Virginia supporter of Sen. George Allen's. It seems that the Allen campaign is frustrated that The Filter-- the press filter -- is too finely grained to allow pro-Allen letters to the editor to get through.
The solution: send more letters to the editor. Recruit activists to send letters to the editor(s) across the state. Generate "grassroots enthusiasm" from the top of the blades of grass.
Caveat: this dilemma is not confined to Allen's campaign, and the attempt to solve it is common practice for GOPers and Dems everywhere. But it's a fun peak behind the curtains nonetheless.
The George Allen for U.S. Senate Campaign is in desperate need of "Letters to the Editor" to combat the aggressive grassroots campaign of his opponent in the closing days of this election. I have agreed to turn over 50 unsigned letters to the editor that can be used by the campaign to strategically place in various local, regional and statewide papers in the next 5 days. The campaign will find people to sign your letter. You just have to write it.
You have been hand-picked to help in this vitally important effort, based on your party loyalty, friendship with George Allen, and good writing ability. Can you help us? This effort is as important as donating money, putting up a yard-sign, or sticking a bumper sticker on your car.The request is this: send me a 2 to 4 (at most) paragraph letter to the
editor (not to exceed 200 words) UNSIGNED, and UNDATED as a Microsoft Word
Document attachment. Because of your political savvy you will know what to
say....but here is some guidance:1) Vote for George Allen because of his experience as delegate, Governor,
Senator
2) George Allen is a superior candidate because of his commitment to low
taxes and tax cuts
3) George Allen is the man for the job because he is a proven, tested
leader
4) George Allen should be re-elected because of his commitment to make the
U.S. energy independent
5) George Allen should be re-elected because of his committment to the U.S.
military and bringing freedom/democracy to IraqThere may be other issues you feel are important to highlight...feel free
to do so. If you want to send more than one letter, please do so. If you
want to enlist a friend to write a letter, send that to me as well.George Allen is counting on you!! Thanks for your help! 27 days to
election day!http://www.georgeallen.com

See! It's like I've been saying since forever: Allen supporters are too dumb to even compose a simple LTE!

'Astroturfing' is the technical word for this seedy practice.

Please!! Spare ME!!
George Allen is typical of whats wrong in America these days. As an African American, an Army retiree, and a business owner, I take issue with KKK George and his rhetoric. People keep saying that hes been elected before, so that the recent news about him (Macacca, N-word, and Investment Violations) are irrelevent. It appalls me that people would not find these facts disturbing enough to put George out to pasture. Its like having a hardworking faithful employee for many years, who you find out later was embezzling funds. All the hardwork doesnt matter, the employee misrepresented himself. Anything else that George has done simply doesnt matter. So, lets assume that hes accomplished some things, durig his tenure, it doesnt matter, time to go George. Life has taught me that it takes a thousand atta boys to make up for one awww shoot (expletive deleted). In politics, you get one chance. What really confounds me is that he thought it was ok to say the things he did, in public. So much for his judgement.
As to his use of the Confederate Flag, and the hanging of a noose in his office, these all ad up to the emporer having no clothes, except a pointed pillow case with eye holes. By the way, he didnt know those items were sore subjects to certain groups (here we go with the judgement issue again, as well as mighty Scoooby Doo "DRRRRRUUU""). As for poor Georgy finding out that he might be Jewish, the look on his face, and his response said it all. He looked like an Arian Brotherhood leader finding out that his long lost Mom was named Shaniqua, and black as the night. However, George even put a spin on this. His Mom told him about his Jewishness a month previous, and he was sworn to secrecy...What a laugh. He was afraid of losing votes is more like it, and his membership in the KKK may have been in jeapordy. I am no radical black guy who sees racism at every blow of the wind, BUT, as far as George Allen is concerned, we have pulled aside the curtain and seen that the wizard is all huff and puff..with a large dose of bias. The fact that he felt comfortable enough to call someone of a non-white race a racially derogatory name in front of a mostly white audience denotes George Allens contempt for what makes us all strong. That thing is our uniqueness and differences. Politicians (of both parties) intentionally divide us to conquer our votes, but George Allen has a singular view. If its white, its right.
I intend to garner every friend I have (blk, white, mexican etc) to vote and get the Klan out of the Senate.

For libs all poised to get outraged (like the guy above who says Allen supporters are too dumb to write their own letters): MoveOn.org is a huge practitioner of this sleazy game.
Everybody ought to stop.

To David Mastio,
I love how you cover up for George Allen. So your argument is that because some other group does something sleazy, you feel it is right to do something sleazy as well.
Is there no honour among thieves?
