I don't get the Hotline's jubilation over Kerry's mis-speak.
You guys are betraying a sense of helping the GOP at all costs by trumping up this non story.

John Kerry is a sturdy, glib campaigner who is running for the Democratic nomination in 2008. The fate of the majorities in Congress are not an interest to him. John Kerry's remarks, reported, distorted, re-reported, can only help him in Iowa and New Hampshire with Democrat primary voters. John Kerry, on November 7, 2006, becomes the leading anti-war candidate for the Democratic nomination fight.

As an Independent, what I find more distressing than John Kerry's inarticulateness is the Democrat's inability to capitalize on the legion issues that the Bush administration has bungled. There shouldn't be an hour of media where America is not reminded of how much seniors are literally getting killed by expensive and confusing changes in Medicare, about changes in environmental policy have made it easier for the largest polluters to escape scrutiny, how Bush's manipulation of the regulatory process and the use of signing statements has weakened the effect of laws passed by U.S. Represntatives.
America should be reminded daily how their money in Iraq is being wasted, with miserable accounting of no-bid contracts awarded to companies with very close contacts to administration operatives. They should be reminded of the President's determination to attack Iraq before 9/11, how the Administration ignored its best advice, how it continues to "stay the course" with failed plans.
There are innumerable issues to discuss, and if the Democrats get bogged down on John Kerry's unfortunate efforts at humor, then they deserve to lose, like they did in 2004 when the issues were on their side.
