John Mercurio: "when do we get to stop hearing about Al Gore?"
Seems like a bit of an odd question, but okay, you don't like the guy, find him odious or something, you're certainly entitled to that take on things. But the thing is, you're not going to stop hearing about him.
Assume for a moment that he really has already decided that he's absolutely not going to run -- would announcing this before September help or hinder his effort to bring more attention to his concerts, etc. this summer?
On the other hand, assume that he has decided that he absolutely will run -- would telegraphing this in any way (e.g. losing weight before the oscars) help or hinder his eventual chances?
No matter what his plans are, he has nothing to gain and plenty to lose by ending the speculation before September/October (maybe even November, I'm not clear on state deadlines). And, quite frankly, most people seem interested, so the speculation is likely to stay alive for the duration whether Gore deliberately fuels it or not. I seriously doubt that you will "get to stop hearing about Al Gore" for several months.
