Hagel Being Hagel
Says a spokesperson for the Nebraska Dem Party:
“I think it is extremely disappointing that Senator Hagel would bring the entire state of Nebraska to a screeching halt by holding an elaborate ceremony to announce absolutely nothing.”

I'm surprised Hagel took the decisive step of actually scheduling a press conference to announce that he had not yet decided to run for the presidency.
Rumor has it that originally he was merely going to schedule a press conference to announce that he had not yet decided whether to schedule a press conference to announce that he had not yet decided to run for the presidency.

Here is an exclusive transcript of Sen. Hagel's breakfast this morning:
Sen. Hagel: Honey, I have an important annoucement to make.
Mrs. Hagel: What is it, dear?
Sen. Hagel: I haven't decided which tie to wear this morning.
Mrs. Hagel: That is a hard one, dear. Maybe you should wait until May or June to pick one.
Sen. Hagel: That seems sensible.
Mrs. Hagel: Quite. Skim or 2%?
Sen. Hagel: Oh, for heavens sake, ask me on Thursday.

Shorter Hagel -- I am Hamlet! No, I'm not!

Is it possible that Hagel intended to announce his candidacy and was persuaded otherwise during this past week? It's far fetched, I know, but makes more sense than his foolish dog and pony show.
