YouTube Wars: Romney Endorsed Rocky Anderson In '03
Rocky Anderson the a pro-gay marriage, pro-choice, Bush-impeaching results-oriented mayor of Salt Lake City Utah. He was also, circa 2003, a close friend of Ex-MA Gov. Mitt Romney. Mr. Romney endorsed Anderson's election that year, and Romney's spokesman explained to a newspaper reporter that sometimes, personal friendship trumped political parties. The two became friends during the '02 Olympics.
Romney even appeared in a television advertisement for Anderson. Anderson, in 2002, had used his self-described "liberal Democrat" street cred to cut an endorsement spot for Romney's Massachusetts gubernatorial bid.
Said Romney in his ad: "In my view, Salt Lake City is a better place because of Rocky."
Romney spokesman Kevin Madden e-mailed us this response: ""Mayor Anderson and Governor Romney worked together during his tenure as head of the very successful Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002. Mayor Anderson was a fan of Governor Romney's executive experience and ability, and the governor appreciated his support in making the Olympic Games a success."
“Obviously we strongly disagree with Mayor Anderson's opinions on President Bush. His opinions and beliefs are his own and not shared by the governor."

Flippity floppity Mitt Romney in his true colors!
Rocky Anderson is one of the most openly liberal democratic politician of the country and flip-flopper Romney endorsed him? Go and figure out the real Mitt.
Mitt changes his colors more often than a chameleon. How can he change all the facts and evidence which is on tapes and claim that he is very hardcore about pro-life, anti-gay rights, pro-Bush, pro-gun rights and anti-liberal?
If "personal friendship trumped political parties" then is he going to appoint a well qualified liberal judge if he/she happens to know Romner very well?

A political candidate who likes and helps people with views different than his own? Blasphemy!
If candidates start having respect across party lines, the next thing you know the government might be able to get something done, and nobody wants that to happen, now do we?

I hope that Governor Romney continues to stand up for his right to support and have friends outside the party line. Heck the article up there says that Rocky did an ad for Romney too. I mean for Pete's sakes are we all pinned into one box? Are we not allowed to have friendships outside of our party? I agree with Mike the incredulous. It's about time we saw a politician who could work with various opinions (I.E. like a Reagan). It's this isolationist and polarization crap that has us where we are today, going no where fast...

No, no, no. It's a mistake to say that Mitt Romney is a flip-flopper. Those adjustments he makes in his positions are just superficial, no more meaningful than the color of his tie.
But his core principle never changes: The Presidency for Mitt Romney. He understands that anything and everything else is totally unimportant compared to that single, all-important goal.
If anything, he is actually the most consistant candidate in the field. Fire in the belly? Mitt's got a full-on nuclear MELTDOWN in the belly.

SALT LAKE CITY MAYOR ROCKY ANDERSON DOESN’T NEED TO LOOK MUCH FURTHER THAN A MIRROR TO SEE WHO IS CORRUPT AND A LIAR.
Former Salt Lake City police officer Rob Joseph says Rocky Anderson has no standing to call for the impeachment of President Bush. State Grand Jury Panel and Division of Occupational Licensing (DOPL) findings support Rob Joseph’s claims.
Rocky Anderson was invited to testify in Washington DC last month at the invitation of Senator Eric Oemig, D-Kirkland, calling for the impeachment of President Bush. Rocky Anderson has accused the President and Vice President of numerous corrupt acts, including, lying and cover up.
Joseph finds it hard to believe that Rocky of all people would be the one pointing the finger and calling the President or anyone else for that matter misleading or a liar.

Sorry, but Senator Oemig is from Kirkland, WA and is a state, not a US senator...
Although I agree with you that Rocky is a rockhead, especially in regards to Jihadists (look at Trolley Square)...
As for Mitt. He solves problems. I have seen the most extreme conservatives partner with the ACLU on some issues (rarely, but it happens). Politics makes strange bedfellows...
Mitt realizes that leadership requires leading and building on common ground. Pelosi and Reid (Clinton) look for all-or-nothing slashed Earth policies, and that is why they are not true leaders.
What has Mitt done? He has taken failing companies and your corrupt Olympics and turned them into successes.

Rocky Anderson can surely talk the talk about impeaching President Bush... and even though I am a Republican, I do like Rocky's stand point on a lot of key issues here in Salt Lake City, BUT... like I said before he does bring up key issues and has great points such as banning cell phone use while driving through downtown Salt Lake due to the increased cell phone accidents lately...BUT let me get to what I am trying to say which is... IT'S ALL TALK! He doesn't ever really do much for us here. I am with Mitt on this...I can't believe he would say such extreme things! What a psycho!
