Joe Trippi Joins Team Edwards

Trippi, writing on John Edwards's blog:

I really thought that the 2004 presidential campaign would be the last I would be involved in. I have always wanted to make a difference, but for me I thought those days were over.

A few weeks ago, John and Elizabeth Edwards made their decision to continue, not just John Edwards' campaign for President, but their work together to make a difference for their country.

And that made me realize that I wasn't done trying to make a difference either. Not by a long shot. So today I am joining the John Edwards campaign.

Too much is at stake. The war in Iraq continues, and more of our troops will lose their lives. Working Americans are losing ground. Poverty continues in the wealthiest nation on the planet. And nearly nothing is really being done to reduce global warming.

John Edwards is leading the way and making a difference on all of these issues. He's offering big ideas backed by real plans to change our country. And so his campaign is the place where I will work to make whatever difference I can.

Lets make a difference together, for each other, and for our country. Too much is at stake to give anything less than everything we've got.

We're told that Trippi will be a senior adviser and a member of the media team. We suspect he'll play a large role in developing Edwards's internet strategy. [MARC AMBINDER]

Who the heck is Joe Trippi? And should I care?

Who the heck is Howard Dean? That's the question people were asking before Joe Trippi made him into a national candidate.

If you care about John Edwards being the next President of the United States, you should care that Trippi is on board. The man's a visionary.

Trippi's entry changes the complexion of the Democratic Party Campaign for those of us watching from the outside. Joe interacted with us for a very brief moment in Nigeria, when he advised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on his internet strategy for the elections. It was a groundbreaking effort, which helped to drive the change of perception for the candidate who was being persecuted by his former boss, the President himself. I wish him luck, in getting Edwards nominated by the party.

Joe Trippi, more dark ads, showing small crowds and if Edwards doesn' do well, YEEEEEEEEha, Joe will balk. If Joe Trippi is so great with the internet, how come the Obama compaign consistently out classed us in this area and even Ron Paul. If JOe is so great how come a candidate like Paul could raise forty million dollars online and we did not.
I fhis advisors are so great how come Edwards is not doing talkning points each and everyday and how is it that when you fill out a form on the website people don't get back to you. The Edwards campaign missed vital opportunities, truly standing up for the poor, gotv, getting Union support and handling this like a local campaign. No letters to the Editor, poor visibility, the traditional things that campaigns do. No visits from Joe to our campaign. We needed Carville not slow mo Trippi.
