Romney Lent His Campaign $2.5M
Although ex-MA Gov. Mitt Romney told reporters in January that self-funding would be a "nightmare," he woke up and managed to write himself a $2.35M check to kick-start his campaign in December.
The money was used to fund Romney's "testing the water" phase -- he couldn't transfer any money from his federal PAC, and since he wasn't a federal office-holder, he had no federal campaign cash to play with.

That's embarassing.

Lending your self $2.5M starter cash is not the same as "funding your campaign" as you are making it out to be.
He did not have access to Federal funds to initiate his exploratory committee etc. Hillary transferred 10M from her Senate campaign.

OOH!! Romney lent himself 2.5 Million. I guess he only beat Gulliani and McCain by 7 and 10 million instead of 9 and 12 million. Way to be all over that one Hotline. Koodos!
