Quote Of The Day
From today's Hotline:
"When decent people spoke out and said they didn't want to hear that any more, it changed."
-- Elizabeth Edwards, on how her Coulter response is like the civil rights movement, "Today," NBC, 6/28

I wish Elizabeth Edwards the best in her brave fight against cancer. However, her battle with Ann Coulter is a lot less courageous. Why is she giving Coulter the attention that she thrives on? Plus, it’s more than a little desperate that the Edward’s campaign is using this to raise money. Let’s face it – Edward’s campaign against Hillary is a lost cause. He can’t even catch up to Obama!

Elizabeth Edwards has been a class act throughout this hate mongering by Coulter and her supporters. And yes Elizabeth Edwards is right, there are parallels. The civil rights movement was also about hate against certain people.
Shame on Man Coulter who represents this hate which is a form of terrorism. Shame on Hardball and GMA too since they give platform to this sort of hate speech. Everyone who supports Coulter needs to look into mirror and think who they will feel if someone wishes death on them or bring a dead child in political discussion or if their spouse was killed in 9/11 attack and then Coulter says that they desereved it. What country are we living in? Is it US or Afganistan ruled by Taliban?
Man Coulter is doing nothing but hurting republicans in all of this. This does not help base since base is base and no hardcore republican is going to change their alliance with gop because of this. But on other hand it will reinforce in the minds of independents that republicans are about hate and divide & rule. Independents will further move away from republicans. And in general election republican's biggest nightmare will be John Edwards since he is the only one with potential to win even majority of red states.
So, more of Man Coulter more it helps John Edwards and Democrats.

Yeah, someone trash talking your husband qualifies as a civil right abuse, Liz. Next, Ms. Edwards will explain how John has suffered as much as MLK Jr. Get a grip lady. You're just as much of an opportunist as your husband!

I am no radical conservative, but.... and I know everyone is caught up in
the bomb attempt in London today. But, did anyone hear Hillary last night at
Howard Univ. state that: "if the ones dying of AIDS were 25 to 44 year old
white women that they'd find a cure... and fast!" This pandering, very
damaging rhetoric is so unhealthy I cannot believe she said it, or maybe I
can from a like minded, power hungry Clinton politician. She handed
Republicans opposition a poster moment for why she should not be elected
President of the United States.
But, to give her a media pass on her statement is both equally as well as
morally reprehensible. She is saying that all scientists working on AIDS
would work harder if the victims were white woman of nubile age!
Incredible. A President of the USA saying this is... beyond troubling. By
the way, are there no black people working on the AIDS project? Are these
blacks not motivated because the victims are black? What in God's name is
this creepy politician saying? She should be held accountable for her
words. But she will not. Don't know why but she is above the moral law...
Respect this time,

Elizabeth Edwards is a vicious political partisan. She was instrumental in the hiring of the two bloggers who posted such hate about Christians as part of their running the Edwards' blogs that they got fired. She also is quite active herself in the far-left blogosphere. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

You sound incredulous. Apparently you are blissfully unaware of the unspoken priorities that have prevailed in the medical research funding community based on the demographics of the sufferers. I'm a white male but I'm not so deluded as to be clueless about these disparities (which have gotten better in recent years, but unfortunately still do exist).
And I guess you must be so tired of the news being taken over 24-7 every time an overweight black male disappears without a trace and his family cannot find him. Oops, I'm sorry, I meant slender blonde white woman. But no, there're no disparities in focus of compassion in this society based on race, gender or looks, none at all!
