Quote Of The Day

From today's Hotline:

"If I believed in polls, then five years ago I would have backed the war in Iraq like she did."

-- Barack Obama, on polls showing he continues to trail Hillary Clinton, "Early Show," CBS, 10/15.

I wonder if Obama's constiuents in his state senate district were anxious to oust Saddem Hussein. Saying you are against something when you have no responsibility is not exactly a profile in courage.

It had been American policy since 1998 to have regime change in Iraq. Hussein was a monster. Obama was against the war, good for him, what would he have done instead, anything?

Ouch!

If 9/11 happened in Chicago, and he represented Illinois, I doubt polls would have mattered.

Curt, It is extensively well documented that the attacks on September 11th had nothing to do with Iraq. We need to move past this bit of propaganda so that we can move forward and decide on the best ways to protect our interests throughout the world.

Remember that Obama was running for the dem. nomination for US senate at the time, all of his opponents lined up in support of the Iraq invasion. Illinois has plenty or conservative districts he needed to win so i think Mr. Greenbaum's comment isn't entirely accurate.

It's a profile in courage when you are running for the US Senate and the whole country and Congress including HRC are giving carte blanche to the President and you say it's a bad idea. Great line Mr Obama!!!
