Cringe Worthy

This clip of Chris Matthews pushing an Obama surrogate to name the senator's legislative accomplishments is being circulated by the Clinton campaign and the RNC. Question -- Whose performance is most cringe-worthy? Matthews, or TX State Sen. Kirk Watson.

Wow. Watson, no question. I'm glad the mainstream media is finally making this point.

Chris Matthews' style of television is NOT NEWS. Anyone can ask a GOTCHA question without knowing policy or having insight worth a damn. The Fox News/Hardball era is OVER.

Off the top of my head, in Illinois Sen. Obama passed the first comprehensive campaign finance law in 25 years, passed a law mandating the taping of police interrogations, and even got Republicans to sign off on a serious revision of the death penalty statute, which passed unanimously.

In the Senate, Obama passed Obama-Lugar, which applies the Nunn-Lugar nuclear nonproliferation bill to conventional weapons (namely RPGs) and Obama-Coburn, which worked to increase ethics transparency in the Senate. He also was one of the co-sponsors of the wider ethics bill, the one that Clinton weakened (by voting against the Office of Public Integrity.)

That's without even trying. So, just because a Obama supporter on Hardball hadn't done his homework doesn't mean Sen. Obama doesn't have accomplishments to his name.

Now, can anyone name any accomplishments by Sen. Clinton over her 35 years of experience? I find that a much tougher question.

So much for objectivity in the press. Matthews' laser-like focus on one aspect of Obama's uneventful career (at least he was "present")shows that he is an active partisan and advocate for Hillary. It's no wonder that people who watch his network think don't know that we've won the war in Iraq.

Kirk Watson, without a doubt. Just add him to the growing list of Obama supporters who can't articulate why he should be president.
