This ad forgets to mention there really isn't an effective GOP in the State of Illinois these days. The old days when the state usually had a Senator from each party like Dirksen and Douglas and alternated the Governor's Office are long over. The tail in Chicago now wags the downstate dog. He would find much more spirited opposition in Washington. My problem with his "let me bring the Country together" spin is he isn't offering anything that would bring people together, he is saying, join me on the left. That won't work. Illinois isn't an analog for the country anymore. The most powerful man in Illinois isn't the Governor or a US Senator, its the Mayor of Chicago, a city with the highest taxes in the Country. While all this "let's come together" business may fly with east coast liberals, it won't sell here in flyover-land.

I am a supporter of Hillary Clinton. However, for me the issue in Florida and Michigan is a question of honor and doing the next right thing.
Those voters went to the polls in good faith and cast their votes. To deny that their voice counted due to the supidity at the national level is a dark shadow cast over the democratic process.
For the sake of right and honor Michigan and Florida must count. We need to take politics out of the picture and do the right thing when it comes to those registered voters voice being heard. If their vote doesn't count, maybe you'll find a way for my vote not to count.
Florida and Michigan must count. Special interest and party grudges must get out of the way and let right prevail.
Sincerly,

Actually some of us here in Florida didn't bother to vote because we rent (and didn't have a stake in the property tax freeze initiative) and we were told the presidential primary was just a beauty contest

It's an effective ad against one of the most important charges against Obama from a few weeks ago: that he had no accomplishments.
The question is whether anyone is still listening to that debate. All of the accomplishments have been widely reported and argued before. And it appears that the defining issues of the campaign have shifted.
In that sense, the ad tries not to change the subject, but to recycle earlier points in a new light: he's a uniter, no matter what Wright may say.
