HRC Gets Pushback In PA For Slamming Obama's Small Town Comments
PITTSBURGH – Hillary Clinton spent a fourth day hitting Barack Obama for comments about small town America that she characterized as elitist, out of touch and problematic for the Democratic Party, but this time some in the crowd could be heard taking issue with what she was saying.
Clinton raised the issue near the top of a speech sponsored by the Alliance for American Manufacturing, prompting quite a few murmurs in the crowd.
"I understand my opponent came this morning, and he spent a lot of his time attacking me," she said, before being interrupted with several seconds of murmurs and groans from the crowd. "Well, you know, I know that many of you, like me were disappointed by recent remarks that he made (More groans, and at least one "No" from the crowd), and I think it's important that, you know, we give people the chance to really compare and contrast us."
Clinton continued despite the interruptions: "You know, I am well aware that at a fundraiser in San Francisco, he said some things that many people in Pennsylvania and beyond Pennsylvania have found offensive (A few more No's). He was explaining to a small group of his donors what people who live in small towns right here in Pennsylvania are like and why some of you aren't voting for him. But instead of looking at himself, he blamed them. He said that they cling to religion and guns and dislike people who are different from them. Well, I don't believe that. I believe that people don't cling to religion, they value their faith. You don't cling to guns, you enjoy hunting or collecting or sport shooting. I don't think he really gets it that people are looking for a president who stands up for you and not looks down on you."
The Clinton campaign said it plans to keep "drawing contrasts" with Obama on this issue.
(NOTE: NBC's Andrea Mitchell said the crowd response was an organized effort by Obama's union (SEIU) supporters, according to the Clinton campaign.)
During the manufacturing forum, Clinton also spoke about the need for improved enforcement of trade laws and to get tough on China for its trade practices and currency manipulation. Clinton has spent a lot of time in recent weeks focusing on economic and kitchen table issues like trade and manufacturing jobs, matters at the top of the minds of many voters.
During the Q+A after her speech, Clinton was asked about NAFTA, with the questioner citing Bill Clinton's support for the deal.
"As smart as my husband is, he does make mistakes," she said to applause, before going on to repeat her commitment to renegotiating the deal.

A crystal-clear illustration of how consistently full of s__t the media has become. And that includes HOC for hammering this issue as well.
But this is a good post for once, thanks for that.
And I'm not a blind Obama follower, I am more interested in seeing the TRUTH prevail over BS regardless of who what where and when.

HRC should read some of FDR's fireside chats if she wants to see how this fits into history.

It's a game -- HRC demonizes from one statement because she needs the votes, deleegates, and influence the Superdelegates. She need to be called onher role in NAPSTER, Columbian trade deal involving Penn, Bosnio, Ohio hospital story, Ireland, and perhaps people will see that Saint Hillary is just doing business at the same old corner stand. It is about votes, not deep seated heartfelt concern for people who she helped lose their jobs. He needs to call on her on things and give her own kitchen sink experience. Bitter, disapointment, enraged, angry, disillusioned, hostile, and mmore more workds saying the same thing, betrayed and belittled. It is all true and the same thing. Manufacturing isn'tcoming back and these folks need more than empty promise.

Yes, it must have been those damned union members supporting Obama that disagreed with Senator Clinton's characterization of Obama's comments. Not, y'know, people who might have agreed with Obama and/or been disappointed that she was using right wing talking points against a fellow Democrat.
And I'm the real Jeramiah Wright.

Does anyone at the Washington Post read these comments? If so, please move on with your reporting. Obama has explained and re-explained his comments to the best of his ability. Either you believe he had good intentions or not, but rehashing the same thing endlessly only keeps peoples' minds off the same basic issues: end the war, strengthen the economy, obtain basic health care, restore our respect in the world and so forth. As another person said, Hillary out and out lied and the firestorm was over in just a few days. She laughed it off. Can we show the same deference to Obama? Thank you.

HRC deserves to lose after her shameless and fake outrage over a perfectly accurate Obama statement. Her campaign tactics, the politics of personal destruction are in marked contrast to Obamas calm and statesmanlike responses. He does not attack her personally. The Clintons are unfortunately showing their true and worse colors. I live in a small town, where no one earns 109 million dollars, and there is resentment over the country's economic direction.

I agree with aduke bennett ~~ move on, media! And move on, Senator Clinton! The presumptive Last Lady C is only showing her hunger for power by taking Senator Obama's comments out of context and beating them into the ground. More and more I find her judgement turning to 'fudgment'. And to the media, shame on your for blowing on that hollow reed.
People who have lost their jobs (a lady I just met today recently lost hers as a medical transcriptionist to someone in Pakistan!) ARE bitter, and no matter what they may turn TO for solace, they have turned their backs ON politicans who can't stick with the issues. Senator Obama is a breath of fresh air in the glib, greedy world of Washington. He is backed by millions of us who are frustrated, broke, without insurance, without jobs, longing for peace, sick of war, missing college, fearful of the future, worried about a warming environment...and, yes, sometimes bitter. He speaks truth as he knows it.

I heard they asked one union guy to "push back" against Hill and he said, "that's not my job", pushing is the laborers local.

Can you give us a timetable for HRC's speeches(?), I just want to be sure I can miss them - all!

Why can't you post the whole comments he maded?
I can'believe that he was putting people he was just trying to explain the problems that people are having with NAFTA, job lost, falling economy,
If you are blind to Clintons involvement in these things.
I guess you need to do more research
