McCain On Wife's Sudan-Related Investment

OBETZ, OH -- One thing's for sure: Polar bears are way cuter than investors and lobbyists.

John McCain, in the midst of a green-focused campaign swing, opened his brief press conference today by commenting on the official recognition of polar bears as "threatened" under the endangered species act.

The follow up questions were not about cute animals.

Instead, they prompted similar responses to two tough lines of questioning for the Arizona senator: We took care of that.

McCain, whose wife has come under fire for refusing to disclose her tax return documents, fielded tough questions about her investment in a mutual fund that deals in Sudan, as well as about the resignation of two McCain aides over their involvement in lobbying deals with the Myanmar junta.

The Arizona senator said that he was not aware of his wife's investment in two mutual funds that include holdings in Oil & Natural Gas Corp., which in turn does business in the genocide-ridden African nation.

"I didn't know anything about it, until I saw the story, obviously, because I don't have anything to do with her finances," McCain said.

According to the Associated Press, Cindy McCain sold more than $2 million of investment in the two firms today after the connection to Sudan was disclosed. "We found out about it," McCain said today. "They found out about it and fixed the problem."

Asked if other investors should follow that lead and divest in Sudanese businesses, McCain said: "I hope so."

The senator also responded to criticism around two of his former aides, who resigned this weekend after Newsweek revealed that their high-profile Washington firm had lobbied for Myanmar's military leaders.

He promised greater vigilance in the future. "People will be more thoroughly vetted," he said, noting - again - that the oops had been righted. "We found out that these two individuals had represented that country and so they left," he said. "We will vet everyone very seriously and make sure that it's not a repetition."

Give me a break. What nonsense. "Green-focused"? I'm sorry, but Bushian "let the free market solve climate change" is NOT green. In fact, it is as FAR from green as you can possibly be.

McCain has skipped EVERY. SINGLE. ENVIRONMENTAL. VOTE. THIS. CONGRESS. The League of Conservation Voters that tracks all environmental votes ranked him DEAD-LAST out of the 535 members of Congress. Pretty incredible since some of the people who beat him actually ARE dead.

Re: Lobbyists, more diligence? Hullo! How about Charlie Black?! McSame's senior counsel and spokesman who lobbies directly from the "straight talk express". It's nuts. The guy's clients and his firm's clients have included dictators and terrorists from oh: Zaire, Somalia, Nigeria, Angola, Philippines (Ferdinand Marcos, remember him?).... Not to mention the Iraqi National Congress (Ahmed Chalabi's group), China's Oil company that also does business with Sudan (as the Sudanese government permits genocide in Darfur), and on and on.

As I said. Give me a break. John and Cindy McThirdTerm are even more depraved and morally bankrupt than George W. Bush.

Clinton takes Indiana by a ‘razor’ and Obama wins North Carolina by a huge margin. Nevertheless, Kentucky, Montana and West Virginia are still to come.

The Democratic race for nomination is still very much alive – and most likely to be decided by superdelegates

If you’re tired of waiting around for those super delegates to make a decision already, go to LobbyDelegates.com and push them to support Clinton or Obama

If you haven't done so yet, please write a message to each of your state's superdelegates at http://www.lobbydelegates.com

Obama Supporters:

Sending a note to current Obama supporters lets them know it's appreciated, sending a note to current Clinton supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Obama, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Obama. It's that easy...

Clinton Supporters too …. !

It takes a moment, but what's a few minutes now worth to get Clinton in office?! Those are really worth !

Sending a note to current Clinton supporters lets them know it's appreciated, sending a note to current Obama supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Clinton, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Clinton. It's that easy...

Oh spare me the lies McFlip. He put all his own assets in his wife's name. And he doesn't know anything about her business? B.S.
