I think he was joking, but actually, the Democratic Party does recognize 56 entities for the purpose of sending delegates. In addition to the 50 states, there's American Samoa, Democrats Abroad, District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.

Maybe he thinks he can pick up delegates in states that don't even exist? And they say McCain is senile.

Yeah, he's kidding. the pause between fifty and seven is the give away. That said, it's past time for Clinton to get out of the race.
