Wash Blade: "Hillary, The Time Has Come"

The Washington Blade, which endorsed Hillary Clinton, calls today for her to leave the Democratic primary race. Under the headline -- "Hillary, the time has come" -- the paper's editor, Kevin Naff, writes that Clinton's behavior during ABC's PA debate was "over the line" and that she "gleefully" joined the Barack Obama "bashing" that transpired that night in the form of the moderators' persistent questions about the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and flag pins, instead of policy.

"She ran a tough and spirited campaign that will be talked about for a generation," Naff says. "But it’s over. The time has come for Clinton to adopt a gracious and conciliatory tone, end her campaign and endorse Sen. Barack Obama for president."

He added: "The time has come for her supporters, gay and straight, to embrace Obama’s campaign for the White House. The stakes are too high to allow primary race disappointments to demoralize Democratic voters. And the stakes for gay voters are higher."

Naff also rails against John McCain, expressing particular concern about McCain's pledge this week to appoint strict constructionist judges. It's only a matter of time, Naff cautions, before the SUPCO will be asked to weigh in on same-sex marriages. "No gay voter should pull the lever for McCain in November," he writes.

Give it a read.

Obama-??? ticket will definitely deliver a certain vote to McCain.

The Democratic nomination process has been sabotaged and subverted by the media with unrelenting tenacity and bias toward cult leader Obama. If Sen. Clinton is forced to quit, there is no doubt Obama will crash and burn in November and the Democratic Party will be a train wreck - just like it was with radical left wing liberal George McGovern who lost every single state except one state in the general election.

The black racism in the North Carolina win cannot triumph over the nomination process. The Indiana win of a mere 9 counties by Obama out of more than 100 counties cannot triumph over the nomination process. Florida and Michigan must be counted; the remaining states must vote; and the superdelegates must use their independent judgment to select the best qualified candidate for the presidency and that is Hillary Clinton. For the good of the Democratic Party, Sen. Clinton's fight for the future of America must continue full speed ahead. Rational Democrats need to step up to the plate and make frequent contributions to the Hillary Clinton campaign at hillaryclinton.com.

ROFL. And what will Obama's gay supporters do when Donnie McClurkin re-enters the picture? Look the other way?

GLBTs are better off supporting Hillary than Obama.

CRAT3 obviously is ignoring the details. Did you know that "uncommitted" got 40% in michigan?
With all the other democratic canidates in the ticket except Obama(who didn't join the ticket because the votes weren't going to count), it's quite amazing that 'uncommitted' got to many votes. I wonder what the results had been if he was actually on the ticket? Even though Omaba did not campaign in Florida or Michigan, his numbers in Florida and the 'uncommitted' vote in michigan still easily gives him the popular vote and deligate lead.. so I don't want to hear this anymore. The only think hillary has is that Obama wasn't on the ticket in michigan at all so the uncommitted vote doesn't count.

Ples, there were many chanced for a revote, but the DNC wouldn't pay for it, and the proposals were all rejected by Clinton and the states themselves for one reason or another(face it, Hillary does NOT want a revote in those states).

It's clear that Hillary is the loser here. It was time for her to step down a long time ago. I was a big Bill Clinton fan(he won me over, I didn't vote for him either time), however, Hillary is just being childish at this point. It's showing what others have said about the Clintons, they don't believe the rules apply to them. For her to override the will of the people as she's attempting, is so much against the democratics process that I wouldn't vote her now, regardless who who she ran against.
This has been her goal in life and she's not going to get it, something that was just about handed to her, and she can't handle it.

I'll go to this Gas Tax Holiday. Hillary will say or do anything that she feels will will be popular with the people. It's the same reason she supported the Iraq war at fish. She's not going to do what's right. Obama has spoken logic and reason in both of these scenarios. That's what I'm looking for in a president.

Obama's paster doesn't speak for him, I can only go by Obama's actions, and by what he's done it public service. At the very least, he's something different, and right now, that's a good thing.

The right wing hated McCain, they supported Romney, but Romney did the right thing and backed out. Just a couple months later, they've all warmed up to him. It's time for Hillry to do the same befoer it's too late.

It was a bad endorsement to begin with

It was a stupid move by the DC Blade to endorse her anyway.

Yes Corrine. I should be supporting the Clintons. They who signed the Defense of Marriage Act. The very law that makes it impossible for my immigrant spouse to get a fiance visa. Or the brains behind Don't Ask Don't Tell, which DRASTICALLY INCREASED dishonorable discharges. She, who only addresses GLBT issues in front of GLBT crowds, instead of Obama who says it in the churches.

Get real. I'll take Obama's occasional symbolic failure to "kiss the ring" over the Clintons' active persecution.

How bizarre - now Clinton is to blame for the PA debate questions? That has got to be the dumbest anti-Clinton charge in a season distinguished by the dumbness of its anti-Clinton charges.

I guess if Clinton was complicit with the PA debate questions, Obama should have walked off the stage when Chris Matthews et al harangued her during that notorious earlier debate... no wait, Obama didn't do a thing, did he?

Nice double standard, Naff. My respect for the Blade just dropped through the floor.
