Not Lining Up At The Concession Stand
"Well whatever that was, it wasn't a concession speech." -- FNC's Hume
“Clearly, she’s trying to position herself, keep her options open.” -- NBC’s Russert, on HRC’s speech (MSNBC).
“If I were Barack Obama, if I heard that speech, I would not be very happy. ... They are living in parallel universes right now." -- CNN's Borger.
"This was a defiant speech, against all the kind of advice that [heavyweights] within the Democratic Party gave her" -- Ex-WH adviser David Gergen, on whether he was surprised by Clinton's speech (CNN).
"She did everything but offer Obama the vice presidency" -- GOP strategist Alex Castellanos (CNN).

Hillary would make a great ambassador to Bosnia because she's such a hard working white person, as far as I know.

Despite the evilness of his party, I am compelled to say this: major props to Castellanos.

I WANT JOHN MCCAIN NOW BECAUSE HE REALLY CARES ABOUT WOMEN'S ISSUES AND I LOOK FORWARD TO MCCAIN APPOINTING THE NEXT SUPREME COURT JUSTICES. I SUPPORT MCCAIN FOR THE GREAT JOB HE DID HELPING PASS THE EQUAL PAY BILL BY NOT SHOWING UP TO VOTE FOR IT. I LOOK FORWARD TO KEEPING OUR TROOPS IN IRAQ FOR 100 YEARS. AND WHILE WE'RE AT IT....BOMB, BOMB, BOMB, BOMB BOMB IRAN!
OH YEAH, AND I AM ALSO TOO STUPID TO TAKE THE CAP LOCK OFF WHEN I TYPE. ALAS, I AM AN IDIOT...
VELMA HINOJOSA | 06.04.08 12:54 AM
Jerry, kudos.
That says it all in a nutshell.

And Velma, yes, awareness of your problems are the first step towards recovery.
Incidentally, while you are of course jesting, these are things you should consider when choosing who to vote for in November.
Oh, and you forgot "racist assassination lover".

I just don't understand what she did tonight. Geez.....is she trying to get as much money as possible in the next couple of days to pay off her $30million debt? What other reason is there, for heavens sake? Barack WOULD NEVER pick her, especially after what Bill said the other day in SD. Bill and Hillary Clinton are power hungry, and I just don't trust her in the VP slot. If anything, give her Atty Gen, Secty of State or even something with Healthcare Reform.
Monica | 06.04.08 02:01 AM
Just what we need in a VP: someone who still needs to explain her husband's Colombian speaking engagements, donors to his library (and their subsequent relationship to her senate campaign), the gag-ordered Peter Paul fraud trial...should I keep going? The republicans won't be as kind to her as Obama has been. Oh, and there's a little matter of Independent and swing voters that Obama gets that DESPISE the Clintons.
As they used to say on FAT ALBERT: the Clintons are "like school in the summertime...no class".
Tastytone | 06.04.08 02:13 AM
Actually, Tastytone, if it weren't for low class, the Clintons would have no class at all.
Obama doesn't deserve to have Hillary shoved down his ticket as VP. She needs 12 porters for all that baggage.
We want Bill Richardson!!!!!!

I think Jeff Toobin had it right. You get respect by earning it. She has not. She trashes her own party's candidate while praising John McCain as passing the commander in chief test, along with her, and stating that all Barack Obama had was a speech, talks about his not being ready, oh yes, the Freudian slip about RFK's assassination, and all the other disrespect she has shown Obama makes me wonder why she thinks she is entitled to any the "respect" of being made VP. Everybody has put up with her nonsense and being so protective of poor Hillary's (and Bill's) feelings. She should definitely NOT be offered the Vice Presidency. It is counter to Barack's entire message of hope and change. He would be battling her (and Bill!!) and would be presented with constant distractions. The other thing - she could NEVER pass a fair vetting. Yes,thre is the Peter Paul lawsuit, Bill's donors to his library, her involvement with the Fellowship, new information on old scandals (Rose law firm), etc. And, she could never put restraints on her HUGE ego to be what a true Vice President should be, there to aid and assist the President. She would always have her own agenda. JFK and Lyndon Johnson have been pointed out as examples of someone taking on a Vice President they didn't really want. Well, look what happened there. What ambitious Vice President became President in tragic circumstances and got his way in the end. Imagine going through eight years knowing your Vice President gets up every morning anticipating that "something might happen" and then she could be President. She is like a mortally wounded rattlesnake, fading but still very dangerous and not to be trusted.

This is starting to smirk of a Clinton/Paul joint ticket, in spirit if not in fact.

Some of my friends and I came up with a better one.
McCain/Nader '08 - Grumpy Old Men
A campaign for those guys you used to respect but have since shat on everything they used to fight for.

Say 'no' to the veep talk: clearly, plainly, and emphatically - so that everyone can move on -- including the news jockeys who are talking about this instead of the historic outcome OR the RFK anniversary OR profiles of Caroline Kennedy and Eric Holder. (HRC is the polar opposite of Obama in the most important ways - and the wonks all know it.)
Please understand this: all the feminists are supporting Obama. Hillary's hard core supporters who say "I'll-vote-for-McCain-before-I'd-support-any-other-Democrat" are NOT Democrats and they are NOT feminists. They are female chauvinists and there IS a difference. These noisy spoiled sports do not support the Democratic or Republican agenda - they just got caught up in a girls-for-president fad. The news jockeys need to quit amplifying their pouting voices.
These HRC supporters probably will lose enthusiasm and go back to whatever they were doing during the last presidential election - not likely they were working for the feminist or other issues in the Democratic platform though. There is no way to woo them, they are like people who quit going to church and are never going to come back...because they have chosen to completely disconnect themselves from the point of the thing.

Would some one tell Hillary its over? or is it? Why is she reserving her right to be nominated at the convention? A vain attempt at railroading the nomination? or a last ditch effort to get in the limelight one more time, before history forgets her.
