Polls We Can Believe In?
With four new polls out in the last 24 hours, the general election appears in full swing. Three of the polls, all nat'l samples, show Barack Obama leading John McCain just beyond the margin of error. A fourth poll, NARAL Pro-Choice America's battleground survey, shows Obama with a statistically insignificant lead over McCain.
Today's ABC News/Washington Post survey of adults, which was taken 6/12-15, shows Obama leading McCain 48-42% -- down from Obama's 7% lead one month ago. Meanwhile, a new Cook Political Report/RT Strategies poll of RVs, also taken 6/12-15, shows Obama leading McCain 44-40%. Similarly, the latest Gallup tracking poll, which queried RVs between 6/13-15, shows Obama with a 4% lead, 46-42%.
For NARAL's latest battleground survey, Greenberg Quinlan Rosner (D) surveyed 1,000 RVs in 12 swing states: CO, FL, IA, MI, MO, NV, NH, NM, OH, PA, VA and WI. While Obama shows leads in national polls, he fares worse in these key battlegrounds. Obama bests McCain by just 2% overall, 47-45% with margin of error +/- 3%, and ties him 43-43% among Ind women.

McCain graduated at the bottom of his naval academy.
Now he is very old.
It is a fact that the brain declines rapidly in old age, especially the part that controls decision making.
McCain has a temper.
Should he have his finger on the RED Button?
If you want WWIII.

The GQR-NARAL poll is of 52 electoral votes that went D in 2004, versus 97 that went R. If Obama is winning 47-43 in those states he's almost certainly winning the electoral college.

This underscores American stupidity. If Americans choose McCain, thus continuing economic and foriegn policy that has brought us grief and disaster then Americans are demonstrating their ignorance and stupidity to the world. Perhaps God has determined that America's time in the sun has past. With McCain at the helm you will not recognize this once great country in 4 more years. The guy is an idiot but he is claiming he should win because he was captured a long, long time ago. Does that make any sense?

As I recall, age is one of the factors in an employment or professional setting in which you may not discriminate.
Age, sex, religion, race, sexual preference, ethnicity, etc.
So now, because McCain has twice the life-experience of Obama, he's fair game for ageism?
Why is it OK to discriminate against one aspect of an equal-opportunity mandate, but not others?

>This underscores American stupidity.
Oh - so anyone who dissents from your rigidly-constructed ideological prism is a stupid person? How old are you?
>If Americans choose McCain, thus continuing economic and foriegn (sic) policy that has brought us grief and disaster then Americans are demonstrating their ignorance and stupidity to the world.
If that's representative of a Democrat demonstrating his firm grasp of an issue, then count me out of your "us" and "we."

>>>because McCain has twice the life-experience of Obama, he's fair game for ageism?
It is common knowledge that the brain's function deteriorates with age.
It does so because of Intelligent Design.

This underscores American stupidity. If Americans choose Obama, thus continuing economic stagnation and foreign policy blunders that began with the Carter administration and has brought us Iran hostages, Korean & Iranian nukes & terrorism grief and disaster to our own shores then Americans are demonstrating their ignorance and stupidity to the world. Perhaps God has determined that America's time in the sun has past. With Obama at the helm you will not recognize this once great country in 4 more years. The guy is an empty suit of platitudes and slick lines with no known record of any kind of distinguishing accomplishment or experience but he is claiming he should win because he is mixed race and can talk about change for a long, long time but never seems to accomplish any. Does that make any sense?

If age is truly an issue to the Dems, then Murtha, Kennedy, Byrd, Lautenburg, Inouye, Akaka, Feinstein, Levin, Kohl, Mikulskia and Rockefeller need to lead the way and resign, effective immediately. Each has reached 70 years plus, and the Dems' logic is that they are entirely too old to effectively serve their country. Go ahead, make age an issue; don't reelect these fossils!

Age discrimination is when you see their age on paper and say no, or when you see them and say no. Judging ones ability to do the job based on past work performance is not discrimination, it is sound judgment.

Why is it that Democrats are the only ones showing intolerance under any circumstance? The self-appointed "enlightened ones" are always whining when they don't get their way, trying to take away liberties others enjoy, and generally just sounding like self-absorbed jerks. Now they want to make an issue of McCain's age. You dims should REALLY....I mean REALLY get a grip.
RedStateDave | 06.17.08 05:04 PM
Hey Morgan Mghee...if that's the case, then that explains why the Democrat-controlled Senate has lower ratings than Bush, huh? Chickens coming home to roost...
RedStateDave | 06.17.08 05:06 PM
>>>that explains why the Democrat-controlled Senate has lower ratings than Bush, huh?
A recent Wall Street Journal/NBC Poll found that Democrats enjoy a 19-percentage-point lead over Republicans, 52-33, when voters are asked which party they want to control Congress. [Reuters, Sun Jun 15, 2008 8:00am EDT]
Interesting, huh.
Ya see RedStateDave, you can spin your BS all day but America knows that the GOP is obstructing Congress. And we're done with it. Yes, I said "WE'RE" because WE are in the majority.
Yes, SOMEONE needs to "get a grip" alright. Lookin at you RedStateDave.

Barack Hussein Osama thinks he is the new Allah.

I think the Obama camp's ploy to ridicule John McCain's age is going to backfire big time. This demographic of voters has already figured out that they have a thicker resume than Barack Obama does. Does he think it helps with them, to imply that gray hair makes someone a doddering idiot?

Priceless...
Keep up the good work neocon spammers! More blatant disinformation and lies from the right PROVES Obama's point that he and the Dems are above this kind of gutter politics.
Thanks!

I am voting for McCain. I trust him, that is more than I can say for Barack Obama. The Democrats have had control of the Congress for two years. In that time the price of oil and gas has doubled. They have failed on every issue, all they care about is putting the screws to Republicans.
