Heads Up
The University of New Hampshire Survey Center is expected to release it's latest poll tomorrow of the state's hot Senate contest between GOP Sen. John Sununu and former Dem Gov. Jeanne Shaheen. The center's last survey in May showed Shaheen ahead 52%-40%. At the time, the poll also showed John McCain leading Barack Obama by six points. But the presidential results released earlier this week indicate that Obama now has a three-point edge. Do they suggest that Shaheen has increased her lead? And could Obama actually be riding the former governor's coattails?

Having lived in NH off and on for almost 30 yrs., I found that their politics have undergone a massive sea change over the last decade. What used to be undoubtedly the most conservative state in the Union, has now taken a definite democratic turn to the left. People in NH, like all the rest of us, are sick and tired of an Republican administration that has trashed our country. Shaheen was very well liked as a Governor, and will make an outstanding US Senator. But I do not believe that Obama is riding her "coattails". His popularity stands all on its own. And yes, I do believe that Shaheen has increased her lead over Sununu. Too many people still remember his father's administration. The people want change -- and this year that means throw all the Republican bums out!!
